The PYP transdisciplinary framework brings to our young learners real opportunities to focus on key developmental abilities, in which play is the primary driver for inquiry. Moreover, it involves social interaction, learning spaces, symbolic exploration and expression. In Elementary School, this framework aims to develop various skills: physical, social, intellectual, aesthetic, and cultural.
Learners refine their agency by making responsible choices. The Action Cycle (Check image…) is worked every day at our school, making students more open-minded and risk-taking to make the necessary changes in their lives. By reflecting on our attitudes and choices, we are able to grow as local and global citizens, seeking a more empathetic, respectful and balanced world.
The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge and encourages students to connect their studies with real-world applications. Our curriculum fosters active learning, international-mindedness, empathy, and purposeful living. It empowers students to explore significant issues and ideas on local, national, and global levels, resulting in young people who are creative, critical, and reflective thinkers.
MYP students in their final year explore an area of personal interest over an extended period. It provides them the opportunity to consolidate their learning and develop important skills they’ll need in both further education and life beyond the classroom. It also helps them develop confidence to become principled, lifelong learners.
Theory of Knowledge at our school, an integral part of the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). TOK provides students with a unique opportunity to contemplate the essence of knowledge and how we justify what we claim to know. By engaging with TOK, students gain insight into the interpretative aspects of knowledge, including their own ideological perspectives – whether reaffirming, revising, or challenging them.
The three strands of CAS, which are often interwoven with particular activities, are characterized as follows: Creativity, Activity and Service. Additionally, we promote engagement in extracurricular activities, which are essential for enriching their education and preparing students for the future.
In the 11th Grade, the focus is on planning for the future, preparing students for exams and helping them understand the profiles of universities. This stage includes writing practice, which is essential for success in assessments. In the 12th Grade, it’s time to make choices, creating a timeline for applications and selecting the universities that best align with students’ aspirations. Additionally, reviewing the requirements of each institution is crucial, ensuring that all steps of the admissions process are followed with care.
